Research topics and directions of the School of Business and Technology Management is changing ‘IT centered management’ over the past 10 years into ‘Creative and convergence centered management’ for 100 years, and now the department focuses on ‘how to create global competitive advantage from Post Catch-up paradigm’ and conducts following research.

The department was selected for conducting three national projects for BK21 Plus Project (the Ministry of Education), Management Support Team of Communications Policy Research Center (Ministry of Science, ICT and Future Planning), Innovation Research Project for Improving Quality of Life -Technology Innovation Center (Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy), and so on in 2013.The department installed Idea Factory in KAIST Educational Support B/D (W8) as a part of Technology Innovation Center projects and offers KAIST students a laboratory to do experiments and design their own ideas for implementing prototypes.
