구) ICU (학사과정)영어과목 수강 및 수강면제 기준
1. 기본 원칙
2009학번 이전 구)ICU 학사과정 학생(IT경영학과의 경우 이수요건에 대해서는 IT경영학과사무실에 문의할 것)은 학번에 따른 졸업 전 영어과목 의무수강부분에 대하여 TOEFL 등 학교가 인정하는 공인성적을 제출하는 경우 수강을 면제받을 수 있음.
가. 2009학번 : KAIST 교양과목 이수요건 적용 (교양필수 영어3학점)
나. 2008학번 : 교양필수 영어4학점

2. 면제 기준
가. 입학 전 영어 성적 제출
별표1에 의거 해당 영어과목의 수강 의무를 면제하고 성적을 “S”로 부여 (단, 수강의무를 면제받지 못한 영어과목은 수강하여 학점을 취 득해야 함.)
나. 입학 후 영어교과 수강면제 요건 만족
① 기 취득한 영어교과 학점은 “Letter Grade”로 인정하고
② 취득하지 않은 영어 교과학점만 수강 의무를 면제하고 성적을 “S”로 부여
3. 영어 성적 제출시기
학기별 수강신청기간 혹은 ADD/DROP기간 동안 표2의 학점인정신청서와 TOEFL/TOEIC 해당 영어 성적표를 EFL Office (인문사회과학부N4동, 1224호)에 제출 (제출시기 엄수)
4. 기타
– 2002~2003학년도 입학생의 경우 해당년도 영어 10학점 의무수강원칙이 2004년 8학점으로 변경됨을 고려, 미취득학점 중 8학점까지의 영어교과 수강을 의무화하고 잔여학점은 기타 교양과목으로 대체할 수 있도록 함.

ex-ICU (Undergraduate) English Course Exemption Criteria
as of 2009.9.11
1. General Information
a. All undergraduate students from ICU before 2009 are required to take credits in English requirement courses as a graduation requirement
b. Students may be exempt from the courses by providing their scores of the English tests approved by the university.
2. Exemption Criteria
a. Students may be exempt from the English courses listed in the attachment 1 and given “S” grades. (Only applicable to students who failed to receive a letter grade).
b. If students already receive a letter grade, they cannot apply for the English course exemption.
3. Submission Period
Students should submit their TOEFL/TOEIC score/record and the Credit Approval application form (attachment #2) to the EFL Offices(N4, 1224) during the course registration or ADD/DROP period.
4. Required English credits
– Students admitted in 2008 : 4 credits
KAIST ex-ICU Required English (4credits)
English Communication Ⅰ(1) English 4courses (4credits)
English Communication Ⅱ(1) English Reading & Writing (2) – Students admitted in 2007 or before : 8 credits (same as ex ICU creteria)
